Valentine's Day 1985

I went to Aunty Eileen’s and saw Danielle – who has split up from Marcello. Erica came in later.

Went to Airwood with Our Jeff and Phil intending to see a disco – there wasn’t one. Called for Ste and Jippo.

I got a Valentine’s card today. It said this:

A ring is round,
It has no end,
To be your girl,
I do intend.
Up a ladder,
1, 2, 3,
If you fall,
Fall for me.
Down in the tennis courts,
The Sky was blue above,
You were on the other side,
Of course the score was
Don’t make love at the garden gate,
Love is blind but the neighbours ain’t.
Down in a valley,
Carved in a tree,
3 little words,
I love thee.
To my sweet valentine,
Love from ?
The question mark was written over some Tipp-Ex. When I scraped it off, it said ‘Shelly’ underneath. Shelly Watson. Ace!

Jack and I came to Paul’s to stay the night.
