BEEN IN EYAM LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW IT + ITS PEOPLE QUITE WELL. KNOWLEDGEABLE IN ‘PLAGUE MATTERS’. 1ST TO REALISE IMPLICATIONS OF ITS SPREADING, VERY DISCREET ABOUT VICAR’S DEATH. HAS TO BURY ALL VICTIMS, UNTIL HANDING OVER JOB OF SEXTON TO JESSOP.
