Minty Cheer

11.30pm

A letter today!  From an old friend from the summer!  Minty (whose surname I know not).  She and I got ‘married’ in the pub during the summer, when we were drunk.  She was part of our Angel crowd.  She wrote in response to the Christmas card I sent her.  She says she loved hearing from me.  She’s still busy in Preston, doing Fashion Design.  She reckons when she finally finishes (‘at a good old age’) she’ll probably go into something completely different like bricklaying.  She says her secret dream job is actually to become a TV presenter.  She also asks me how things are in Wisbech and how my acting stuff is going; she reckons I’m probably brilliant at it.  She goes on to say that I should get myself up to windy, cold Preston to go and stay with her for a bit.  She says Preston involves a lot of drinking and partying.  She says she really hasn’t forgotten me and has pictures of me (and the other Wisbech people) on her wall and sees us every single day.  She’s glad to keep in touch and hopes to see me soon.  She signs off with best wishes and a single kiss.  She adds a postscript saying ‘If you want a visit – really, don’t hesitate, just call!’

She is a wonderful person and I miss her.

Tonight I watched ‘South Atlantic Raiders Part 2’, the latest episode of The Comic Strip Presents

It was excellent.
