On The Outskirts Of Marrick...

‘IT NEVER RAINS – IT POURS…’

Whoever came up with that one was quite correct.

‘The Good, The Bad And The Ugly’ – Ennio Morricone

Following a beautiful feast of a breakfast, my companion and I set out sharp and early this morning, feeling somehow even more heavily laden.

Then the rains started and the storm began and we found ourselves lost in acres of muddy and misty farmland.  We got soaked to death.

Following a determined but doomed and arduous struggle – we simply don’t have the right ‘walking gear’ – we found an escape from the weather’s inclemency by stumbling upon further lodgings.  We were soaking wet.

I sit here now, in our bunk-bedded room, as Mr Gordon sleeps.

We have discovered that we are on the outskirts of Marrick, location of the priory in which I stayed in 1979, and one of the places we hope to visit on this journey.  Although it is only the afternoon, it is a very, very wet one and I think it unlikely that we shall venture once more into the countryside while it persists.  Therefore, I look forward to an afternoon of Doctor Who magazines, sandwiches and soup.

Until tomorrow, then…

OH, HOW I LOVE MY SWEETHEARTS.

Later:

‘When I Fall In Love’ – Marilyn Monroe

AND SO, SEPTEMBER BEGINS…

This is what Prediction magazine’s ASTROLOGY SECTION says about Gemini in September…

‘Generally speaking, Geminians have a fortunate month ahead of them with added scope for getting out and about, varying your usual routines.

Perhaps you will be developing some profitable side-lines – for this is a time when new ideas are more likely to bring you success.

Your ruling planet, Mercury, spends the whole of the month in favourable angle to your sign, putting a lively focus on spare-time interests and occupations as well as educational activities and more leisurely social interactions.  It is most definitely a propitious phase for broadening your range of self-expression, for developing fresh skills and maybe taking up a special course of study or training if you feel that this will be to your advantage in the future.

Younger Geminians are especially favoured by this helpful and very positive Mercurial trend.  If you’ve been uncertain about such matters as possible employment, career or educational courses, it’s likely that your mind will become a great deal clearer this month.

The best dates for all the above concerns are the 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 13th, 23rd and 30th.  However, expect a few delays and be prepared to rethink your plans after the 27th when Mercury is moving retrograde.’

Apparently, this week will feature ‘correspondence or documents’ and ‘general good luck’.
