‘Bye Bye Baby’ – Marilyn Monroe & Jane Russell
UPON MY RETURN TO CAMBRIDGESHIRE, KAT FINISHED WITH ME OVER THE TELEPHONE, TO GO BACK OUT WITH WILLOCK. MY MOODS, SHE SAID.
Obviously, these ‘moods’ were all about me putting her off, whilst I pursued my love of the Wasp. I should have finished with her ages ago, but I was just too busy with Miranda and Flash. It was wrong of me to treat her like this, but even without Miranda I don’t think we would have lasted. With Willock on the phone crying at me all the time and my movements restricted for fear of bumping into him, and Kat’s constant guilt and regret and general ‘shrine for Willock’ thing it was pretty much like having three of us in the relationship and it was just getting unsexy. Miranda’s return put all of that into very sharp relief. I shall continue my days with Miranda.
So I don’t blame you, Kat. I’m sure that being back with Willock is where you should be. I’m sorry I fucked it up for you both.
Betty told me that Justine rang while I was away. I am curious as to why.
