Brown Book

‘Tank’ – The Stranglers

The party went on to the wee small hours, and was very good.  My Dad was cool.  Annie was nice.  All ‘n’ sundry went home, leaving behind David from next door, but he eventually went and, finally, the only people who remained were Flash, Gerry, Dee (Gerry’s friend from Coventry) and me.  And it was time for bed.

Flash and I got up at about 11am.  We got ready ‘n’ had breakfast, etc. as we were off to Leeds for the day with Gerald, his dad, so Gerald could buy him some Christmas pressies.  It was brilliant.  We had a really great day.  Gerald’s a good bloke.  I bought a fringed belt for £12 and Flash bought me Brown Book, an LP by the ‘strange’ band Death In June.

After Leeds, we went to Gerald’s in Nevison and I met his new partner, Julia.  We all had an ace meal and a few to drink.  It was a really good get together.

Eventually, Flash and I were taken back to his place.  Only to find that Gerry and Dee had gone out and we were locked out.  So we went to Lola’sand had some fish ‘n’ chips to stay warm and sat at my Dad’s for ages until Gerry returned home.  When she did, we had a few drinks.
