Stan Lampwick

My No.1: ‘Before the War’ – Ryuichi Sakamoto

Stan Lampwick seems to be getting more and more depressed as the days go by.  His love life’s down the drain, his gran’s dying, his parents are being bastards to him, he’s left Tech, he’s jobless, The Videodome (where he rents a room) is closing down (which means he’ll have to live at home again), he misses his real dad, and a drugs deal he put all his money into has fallen through.

I spent most of the afternoon sitting with him in The Videodome, talking him through his problems, but I don’t think it really helped.  His ‘response’ was to continue playing Pink Floyd’s ‘Goodbye Cruel World’ over and over on his guitare.  He reckons he went to see a fortune-teller and she told him he will die before he’s 30.  And he believes it, even though I told him it was probably just rubbish.  He’s cut up about things, really…

By the way, I have dyed my hair bright pillar-box red.  I did it on impulse to cheer Stan up.

Jen and I are still ‘seeing’ each other.  She is gorgeous!  I’ve asked her to wear her white leggings for me, as she hasn’t worn them for ages…
