Ticket To Ride

‘Tower Of London’ – ABC

It is the First of the shortest of nineteen-hundred-and-eighty-five – oops! –six! Yes! Yes! Yes!

I now realise that it really is 1986!

The last record I heard in January 1986 was ‘The Beautiful Ones’ by Prince! Tut!

The first record I heard this month was ‘Let’s Go Crazy’ by Prince!

I’ve been listening to The Musical Compilation cassette by Flash and me. It’s great ‘n’ fab ‘n’ acker ‘n’ groove ‘n’ swing!

Am I off into Wisbech later? I hope so. Catch you afterwards.

Later:
9.13pm.

‘Incense and Peppermints’ – The Adult Net

Yes! I did went up town, and I bought some records: ‘Pull Up To The Bumper’ 7-inch by Grace Jones

…and ‘Rise’ 7-inch by Public Image Ltd.

I also saw BMW, but I was very negative towards her and I don’t really know why. I’m turning weird. I saw Astra Trellis, too, but didn’t have the chance to say ‘hello’ to her as BMW deliberately prevented me from heading in her direction! I also bought the NME, with a free EP, which has a track by the Jesus and Mary Chain and a version of ‘Ticket To Ride’ by Hüsker Dü (which is brilliant). Another good thing about this edition of the NME is this: it’s dedicated to PUNK! Yes! It’s ten years since the first dawning of PUNK – and in those days, I had only been at school a year!

I also bought some more black slip-on shoes and an ex-British Rail overcoat which is long and black and Brill.

I’m quite pleased with today’s buys. Good, eh?

Later:
9.42pm.

‘Ticket To Ride’ – Hüsker Dü

Right now I’m recording a tape for Danny, Jazz, Astra and I to listen to in Art on Monday. Tracks by: The Sex Pistols, Adam Ant, Toyah, Jesus and Mary Chain, PIL, Hüsker Dü, The Cult and Tenpole Tudor. Wow! Like really heavy, maaan!

I’ve been listening to The Situation a lot. My favourite Situation cassette is The Musical Compilation, but I love Flash introducing songs on A Merry Wetlands Xmas and his song, ‘When Your Dream Of Perfect Beauty Falls Flat’. Mmm!

Whaddya think?

See yer laterrrr!
