Nine Years From Now: 05/11/94

NINE YEARS FROM NOW...

'It's ‘Bonfire’ Night.

Lilith and I went to Verulamium Park tonight to see the fireworks. I was angry that there was no bonfire, but I was more than impressed with the most incredible display I’d ever seen. A sound system vibrated music (such as ‘Two Tribes’ and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet) through me as I watched the spectacular show. Wonderful.

Unfortunately, afterwards we decided to take a short trip through the nearby fairground and I ended up getting my feet soaked wet. So I pushed for us to go home – rather than hanging about – which was annoying for both of us. Both my pairs of boots now have holes in the soles and consequently smell. I can’t afford to buy new ones just yet, so I’m nervous of becoming the Stan or Dickie Forrester of the Dolly Mixture tour.

On the VERY PLUS side, we got home in time to see DeNiro in the excellent The Untouchables.'
